this is exactly why i love playing stoner/grunge type of guitar. because its? so open ended random and GROOVY!!!! 80′s type always use the same generic cords. Metal is mostly about fast palm muting. im all for mix of these types of playing though

what equipment/effects are you using to get that sound? its really similar? to kyuss’ sound which is what im trying to achieve.

I’m not using any effects here. I’m using the rhythm pickup on the SG with the tone control all the way back, giving it that fuzzy sort of? sound.

To? excel in this genre, you must first smoke a fat dudbie, the rest comes natural.

The second lesson is if you’re a hater,? throw your gear out in the trash and shoot yourself in the head.

Ive been playing stoner rock but my tone sounds more Sabbath like. But to make it even sound more dynamic and heavier I guess I have to change the tone a bit to sound a bit like the? tone in this video. Its all about tonage. Awesome vid.

I have a couple videos up of my playing, can you give a little honest criticism? I dig your riffs? and I like the bends, Ive gotta ad that in my playing now.

And while the riffs you’re playing are awesome and you are quite a talented guitarist, your tone? is a bit digital. ErroSilvae was correct in stating that stoner rock largely depends on tone and thickness of the guitars. Your snarky reply does not negate the truth of his comment. Naturally aspirated tube amp distortion not only has no parallel but is paramount to creating stoner/doom metal sound and feel. I mean absolutely no offense to you at all. Thank you for the video and techniques.

I always used .013-.056′s for B? Tuning, they do the trick very nicely.
