Watching Dave’s videos on blues or non-rock? genres is so tough… his chops are awesome and he’s right on about a lot, but there never seems to be any emotion to the playing. It feels so rote, kind of cold, maybe robotic? Come on, Dave.
…just finished watching. There are some great moments and ideas throughout, but it still sounds to me like a “metal guy” playing? blues. Tough to say, maybe if I didn’t know Dave’s style before it wouldn’t be that way. Just the rhythm, vibrato, some licks etc. sound non-blues to me.
Mmmm, interesting comment! I know what you mean. Great p,layer but?……… I knew a great drummer who was into dave weekly, and another who loved Charlie watts. The Charlie watts fan got more gigs than the? other guy hands down. Tone doesn’t just mean what pedals amp and cable you use
the little guitar tabs throughout were really? helpful
i dont care?
love dave?
little did i know steve o is such a? wonderful guitarist…
such a great guitarist…you’re awsome man!!!
CHECK OUT? MY CHANNEL FOR AWESOME GUITAR!
I enjoyed the video, since I’ve put in the? time learning the scale shapes for all the scales and now building speed. just gotta practice . like a dog with a bone.
It’s been a yea,r I wonder how much it will cost to extend my membership to next level?
I like what Dave brings to ROGP and agree with you, but giving a lesson and performing on stage are 2 distinct? different playing styles…no?
stfu people the thing is he IS a metal guy …but a metal? guy who can play and teach the blues. who gives a damn if he cant feel the blues. why dont you just learn what he has to teach and you feel it damn
@definealways In fairness, Dave is such? an accomplished player, he makes all this stuff look easy. Maybe blues is not his forte but that doesn’t mean his lessons are not valid and that he isn’t a great teacher. He’s not playing a blues concert, just teaching a couple of licks (for free). Keep it up Dave, great stuff.
I can feel his groove-but then again I am super high right? now
he cant help himself by putting a hint of metal in it ^_^ ahehehehe? very good though
The 8 people who clicked the thumb down need to recalibrate their? mouses…….
men… you have magic in your fingers? jaja
spicy?
wow, that’s amazing,? beautiful
That? guy knows nothing about blues.

Comments to this lesson/pentatonic in general :
1. Never? liked a lesson with a dirt-tone, where you hear the guitar(acousic)/ampsound equal.
2. SRV went thorugh a whole gig without being outside the pentatonic. incl his bends.
3. Funny how the last note in scalelesson is the only vibrated.
4. Minor-pentatonic is so simpel that its easy to get a feeling in. Thats how to really variate.
5. To dare explore it, do as Scott Henderson. In Eminor, you can solo equal in E-minor-pent. and F#-minor-pent.
Who? cares? He’s good.
why does? this video have dislikes?
