@Littlemac181 2 completely different styles. Randy was a classicaly trained guitarist who started out in quiet riot. He was of the 80’s metal scene. That alone affected his tone and the things he could do on a guitar were simply amazing. Gus G is a modern metal guitarist. He has a whole other style to playing that seems a little more shreddy. Both are great but NEVER for one second think that just because he’s “insane” he’s? better then randy. You cannot compare them.

I like his take on the classic riffs but unlike one of the previous posters, I think his? tone is fucking horrible! Maybe the 57 is placed too straight on the cone but that is horrible.. fizz city. Much prefer less gain and a bit of boost or OD which is what Randy and Jake did. (Zakk too)

Gus G, you are a great giutarist, but I am sorry to say you will never? be able to replace Zakk. Ozzy made a huge mistake firing Zakk Wylde, his music will never sound the same.

@Amorr666 Ozzy hired Gus because Zakk wanted too much money, plus his health problems at the time. Just my theory, though Ozzy did say Zakk was bringing too much of the BLS sound to his last album and also for the one they were working on (Scream), so that was part of it too. I also think that Zakk was becoming too big a star for Ozzy to share a stage with anymore since the spotlight supposed to be on HIM and Zakk was supposed to be a hired hand like the rest? of the backing band.
