    I would be good to maybe explain why G and D major triads will work over A7, just so we can do the same concept in any key. I am guessing here, but is because in Mixolydian mode the D is the IV chord and G is the VII chord? Is that right? Great lesson otherwise.

    @MrMassinator
    I think it’s because D is in the A major scale which the A7 comes from. G isn’t a problem as that note is within the A7 Chord as the minor 7th. And he could’ve meant C# by accident.The D however isn’t which is what confuses me also I think Marty may have been wrong.
    Either he, is or I am =P

    I gave this a “Like.”

    First time I’ve done this on youtube but I like everything from these guys.

    I’m an old guy learning guitar finally. Using a small acoustic but I’ve tried a few electrics at a music store and I’m going to expand soon.

    Thanks for the help.

    Mick

    whatever, I’m getting so fed up with internet lessons, I have a shitload of music theory questions Marty never answers. I guess I kinda answered my own question anyway. Maybe if I asked some dumbshit question like “what f**cking color pick are you using I would get an answer. No disrespect Marty, you’re a great teacher. Just wish I lived in S.D. so I could get some one on one lessons.
