Glad you liked the lesson and as I tell everyone, “Stick with it for one year and play the rest of your life” … It is so easy when we get frustrated to put it down and say I can’t … hang in there

Thanks for the free and helpful info….especially the part about not learning on acoustic just starting out…I switched to my kids electric and it is like night and day….who knew…..lol

I don’t know of any other way to to build calluses and I would guess two months if you practiced a half hour a day, but again I’ve never timed it, lol … And thanks for the comment about Hank, take care ….

Thanks a lot pfeels, you answered almost all of my questions. I’ve been playing an acoustic for a couple days and I’ve taught myself all of the basic chords and can play a few strands of songs pretty well, I don’t have money for another guitar so I guess I’ll be learning acoustic. I just wanted to know if you knew how long it would take to build calluses and if their are ways to get them when you dont have a guitar with you?

Man this gave me hope about trying to play again, you are so right about the electric too, I started out with an acoustic and the strings were so tight i couldn’t get it right, it just discouraged me, i moved to a Fender Strat and love plucking it even though i **** right now, thanks. no, my wrist didn’t become thin and my fingers didn’t become fat, what happens is they get a layer of padding under the skin and that makes the pain go away, it takes a while tho

Google “JustinGuitar” Justin does a great job on teaching, maybe a little more advanced but he’s the best I’ve seen so far
